Mini Countryman Crossover Unveiled

This new Mini will no longer be hiding under its codename Colorado as its development stage has wind down. It will now be officially known as the Countryman.

The Countryman will be the first Mini assembled outside United Kingdom as Mini is running out of space at their current facilities in UK. Magna Steyr, an Austrian manufacturer, will be building the car for Mini.

The quirky 4-seater will be available in front-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive, and is expected to be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine at introduction.

The Mini Countryman will be released in Europe in 2010, and will arrive in the US in 2011.
